Secure the column lock simulator under dash using tape strip provided. It also comes with 12 volt adapter to disable the lock before installing bypass device. Make certain the steering wheel moves freely, if not, refer to gm manual for removal of locking mechanism instruction.
The column lock bypass fixes this issue so that it cannot happen to you. Refer to your gm manual for disassembly procedures if necessary. Remove the lighter plug assembly as it is no longer needed.
If a service column lock or pull key and wait 10 sec, error is displayed, remove the ignition fuses no. Orders placed before 10. This is the steering lock mechanism connector. Gently pull the trunk release fog lamp switch plate away from dashboard assembly and unplug connector revealing one screw behind it.

Reassemble the vehicle as needed. The steering lock mechanism must now be disengaged using lighter power plug assembly. Plug the column lock simulator into connector that was previously connected to steering mechanism step 5.
Installation is complete. Vehicle must not have any problems before installing the bypass. Turn key on momentarily.
